127 HOURS
I made a mistake on my last post. There was still one more movie I needed to watch to vote properly for the SAG awards. It was 127 Hours starring James Franco. SAG and the studios began to allow people to download films from iTunes for the first time. Rather than spending money shipping DVDs out to people, you could download it and watch it on your computer. That's the unfortunate thing though. If you have a nice system, you can't really use it to watch unless you have Apple TV or some other way to connect your computer to your home system.

Someone told me that the character Franco plays had to cut through bone, but he was mistaken. Aron Ralston, the real hiker who got stuck, actually broke the two bones on his forearm and then cut through the arm. From what he says, the hardest part was cutting through the tendons and nerves while cutting through the muscle was much easier. He said it was like 100 times the worst pain he'd ever felt and going through that gave him a true understanding of what pain really is. I'm really tempted to read the book.
There was something Ralston says that reminded me of something my brother once told me. Everything you've done has led you to this moment in your life. There's really no point with wondering about the past and whether you've made bad or good decisions in your life. Whatever happened then led you to what is happening now. That idea really stuck with me and helped me to understand that excuses or blame or whatever doesn't get you out of where you are in your life. All that is, is right in front of you.
This week is a recovery week so there aren't any tough workouts in my P90x schedule. The toughest thing I've done I've imposed myself and that was the road running I did yesterday. The rest of the week is just stretching or yoga so it's nice to have a break from it all.
