DAY AFTER 40

I ran 2.5 miles with my nephew in the morning and we watched The Other Guys and Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.

My friend and my cousin have birthdays that are close to mine. So rather than celebrate them separately, I thought it'd be fun to have all our birthdays together. We decided to go to the Continental Room but the place I really wanted to go was the Commonwealth Lounge. After a little bit of confusion early in the evening, we all met at the Continental.

They have a large smoking area and that's where we pretty much spent the entire evening. People offered to buy me drinks throughout the night so I ended-up drinking about four gin and tonics, one beer and Makers Mark on the rocks. I got a good buzz and just went home with Jansen that night. When we got to his place, we played a few poker tournaments.

In the morning, we had some breakfast and he took me back to my car that was parked in the MetroLink structure. I went home and watched Green Bay beat Chicago to represent the NFC in the SuperBowl.

Then I went to my sister-in-law's mom's house for dinner. We had ham, candied yams, twice baked potatoes, cole slaw and Hawaiian bread. As usual, it was delicious and I especially enjoyed the twice baked potatoes as I'd never had them before.

I feel like I just didn't get enough sleep last night so I'll probably veg until bedtime.
