BLISTERING RUN

I did my long run with my new shoes and boy did I screw up. I'm only a week away from the half marathon and I end up with a blister on my right pinky toe. I had a feeling something was wrong when my toe hurt as I ran. I thought it was just a little painful thing, but no, it was a full on blister.

Water had already built-up and that's what causes pain. So I had to stop and check it out. I wasn't sure if I should just walk home, call home or what because I didn't have a phone and I had no change to make a call even if I found a phone. So I decided to just pop the blister and continue with the run.

It was quite grueling because I knew that every step I took probably made the blister worse. As I ran, there would be moments of pain and moments where it seemed like there was no pain at all. It was all dependent on whether my toes were rubbing against each other or whether they weren't.

By the end, I had run about 11 miles and that was with a little bit of rest. I immediately iced my feet and cleaned my toe so it would not get infected. Then I rested the rest of the night.
