DEXTER #3
Wow, most of these shows I'm being booked on have been shows I haven't worked on for like a year. It's probably why I'm getting booked on these shows! I don't care what the reasons are, it's great to work consecutive days. This is only the second time I've worked four days in a row. Hopefully, I can get five days in a row someday to break the record.
I was cast as a coroner and my call time was 8AM. I left at 6:30AM and got to Long Beach State a little early. Early enough to nap for about 10 minutes before heading down to base camp from the parking structure. No one was checking us in, so I ate breakfast. After I finished, we were checked-in and wardrobe gave me a jumpsuit to wear.
The scene took place inside a lecture hall which was actually a theater. The entire cast was examining the body on the stage and I brought a gurney down with the other coroner. It took us over six hours to work that scene. The finale was when the cast got dowsed with blood from above, just like on Carrie. We got to react to it so it was pretty fun doing that.
Then we switched over to being college students after lunch which was around 6PM. All of us felt old around the non-union kids who looked like they were really in college. But they weren't and were just working or who knows what these kids are up to? We ended up listening to the guy who was dead earlier, end up lecturing us on stage. Earlier, we shot an exterior scene with Dexter walking into the lecture hall.
It was a really long day and I got booked for The Mentalist tomorrow. The original call time was 8AM so I was dreading it, but the time was pushed to 11AM so I will be able to keep my training schedule intact. At least I hope I will. We'll see how early I can get up and run.
