GREED

After coming in 2nd in that 90-person tourney on PokerStars, I went into chase mode. That's how I would describe the feeling of wanting to win again. As they say, winning never gets old, but in poker, winning can put you in a dangerous state - almost as bad as going on tilt.

What happens is that hubris kind of gets into you. You believe you can win again and that you can't lose. You start to play looser and before you know it, you're playing way too many hands and losing them. Then you get back into your normal "smart" state, start playing tight again and begin trying to recover your losses. It's dumb and I always seem to do this.

After yoga this afternoon, I picked-up the rent from one of the tenants. She couldn't afford the entire rent and asked if she could pay the rest next Friday. What can you say when they need extra time? Times are tough and these tenants have rented for over 15 years. That's a seriously long relationship and too long to penalize them.

When I got back, I just swept the floor and prepped it for a wet mop just because the floor feels dirty when I walk around on my bare feet. I'll probably do that tomorrow.
