HAWTHORNE #2

I was cast as a lab tech this time around, and since it was no longer a pilot episode, it was so much easier to get around. There were a lot of signs posted and a specific parking lot to park in.

The scene was pretty simple. Jada is in the atrium talking to a few people while the extras are milling about the room. I don't think I got any shots, but there was a hallway scene that had me crossing in front of Jada that might be shown. We actually spent most of our time inside the holding room which was pretty crowded since they would not let us hang out inside the lunch room which was much bigger.

The funny thing was that the PAs had put some signs up about the rules of the day like "don't ask us what time we are wrapping" or "do not wander around." Apparently, it was a reaction to the previous day's work with over a hundred extras to organize. They seemed relieved that there were much fewer extras today, but you could tell they were still pretty stressed.

Hawthorne is an AFTRA show but I intentionally did not fill-out the paperwork required when you are AFTRA willing. The release allows them to put your wages toward the AFTRA registration fee. I've gotten a check each time I've worked AFTRA so I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't even bother filling out any paperwork.

I also ran into an extra I always see and she said the same thing to me - that we see each other everywhere. Of course, we forgot each other's names, but it's always nice to see a familiar face.
