THE MILLERS #2

I was cast as a dad today and the added plus was working in front of a live audience.  It's not the audience that gets me excited anymore, it's the free dinner you get to eat before the shoot.  That may indicate how long I've been doing background work.

The funny story today was during the pairing up of girls with dads since it was a flashback scene.  It was a father-daughter dance at a middle school, so they had to pair the girls with the men.  Of course, the black daughters were paired up with the black dads.  And the white daughters with the white dads.  There were only two girls left:  one half-asian looking one and another that looked Eastern European or pretty much white.  The 2nd 2nd looked at all of us, looked at the dads, looked at the daughters, then told the white daughter to pair up with me.  I thought that was weird and funny but hey, who am I to argue?

It turned out that the daughter I was paired up with was very sweet and very much a talker.  She said she had an older sister and a mom that worked a lot since she was a doctor.  I always wonder how much to believe when talking to background folk, but she seemed sincere.  I just wondered, why is this girl working if she has a doctor mother?  Then again, maybe she wants to be an actress?  But no, she wants to work with animals someday since she loves animals, she says.

We ended up talking throughout the evening and practicing our dance moves.  I gave her my address and told her to write and sweetly enough, she did.  Twice!  The first time was a letter and the second was a postcard  I wrote her back, but she has not written back.  Maybe it's time to write again.

HART OF DIXIE #2

I was booked with car again on this show and Erica was booked again so we were able to hang out and discuss various things like blow and how it's not called that anymore.  It seemed like she was down to chill and kick it someday, but I don't know the girl so who really knows if she parties.

The day was spent trying to stay away from the heat since the sun was unusually hot today.  But we ended up working a full long day so it will be a nice little paycheck including the car bump.

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE #2

I actually had to work this time on this show.  We were sent on location with out vehicle to a grungy part of town.  The scene was the principal getting married in some ridiculous, all white, old school tuxedo.  I even saw a paparazzi taking pictures.  It was funny that they called him a "bogie."

We were dressed as if it was winter but it was an unusually hot day in Southern Cali.  I was sweating bricks down my back so my ass was slowly starting to get flooded.  Thank goodness I wear an undershirt because if I hadn't, I'd have a huge wet spot and could be called a wetback.

All of us were told to walk up and down the street and that's pretty much what we did all day.  It was boring and it was hot, but then it was over.  I ended up losing my voucher somewhere so I don't actually know how long we worked till.  I just know some of us were wrapped and some of us were told to stay.  I got to wrap.

THE MILLERS

I didn't know this show even existed, but it turns out there are some pretty big stars on it.  It's one of those flashback shows and it was interesting seeing some of the stars rehearse and realizing that hair and make-up makes such a difference when it comes to making people look good.

Upon arrival, I sat next to a cute lookin' but not much body havin' mixed black girl.  She was quite a yakker when we started talking, but she was cool.  She was a pastry chef who did odd jobs for different corporate and other affairs.  It was fun talking to her about things and she had a little blog that she shared with me.  As usual, the blog is rarely updated because people are really busy.  I mean, this blog of mine is the longest running writing thing I have, only because I keep it up to date from when I work. My other blogs hardly have any entries.

We were cast as grocery shoppers and there really wasn't much action to what we were doing.  We didn't shoot in front of an audience so I got a chance to eat at the CBS Radford commissary but I was sad to see that they didn't have any of the best tamales I ever ate.

They kept us around to do our thing, but we only did a few scenes and we were out.  A full day from 8-5p.

ANGER MANAGEMENT #2

For some reason, I thought this studio was way the hell out in the valley.  It kind of is, but really isn't.  Once again, we got valet parking and there were a mix of average and hot looking chicks.

I was placed inside the bar again, but I was really hoping my secret Pinay love would also be working today.  Unfortunately, she wasn't.  I wonder how she is.  Next time I see her, I am definitely going to get to know her.  Or at the very least, talk to her at great length.

Charlie Sheen was different to me this time around.  He smoked and had trouble remembering his lines.  But once he gets it right, they don't do it again and again.

The old 2nd was there again, being his weird and almost perverted self.  He gets cranky and seems mean in the beginning, but then you realize he's just a weird guy who is trying to be funny.
