MINDY PROJECT #2

Second time I've been booked for this show, but this time, instead of some maintenance guy, I was a hospital nurse who became a guest for her wedding.  Yes, she gets married, but not really.  See, it's a quickly arranged wedding in her apartment, but the groom decides they should wait and get married like it's the real deal.

I'm always surprised to see ethnic stars with their own show.  I mean, Mindy Kaling isn't exactly the hottest chick in television.  She's dark, she's short, she's kind of fat and she's not all that pretty.  But she must be really funny or someone thinks she's really funny.  Or she knows someone or, as I keep telling everyone, Indians are the hottest ethnicity on television right now.  Actually, I think Mindy might be Sri Lanken but who's keeping track?

It was a fairly easy time on stage.  I was glad they shot on stage because I don't like being outside and sweating bricks.  I always feel like I sweat more than others and getting to the air conditioned stage kind of got me sweaty.  Thankfully, I had some time to cool off before going on set.

I didn't really work most of the day.  They asked me to come in during one of the last shots on a turnaround, so after we did a few takes, we were wrapped.

PARENTHOOD #9

My calltime was 1pm so I was a little worried that it would run late.  I was trying to meet up with Andy to kill two pigs with one bird.

I got to Universal with time to spare so I didn't have to run to stage 44.  When I got there, I was pretty hot and walked inside the stage.  There were two other guys there and a homie was talking to me about having quit his job the other day and that he got back into background again.

We saw a big bus pull in and we got inside.  The driver wondered where everyone else was and after a few minutes, a PA came inside and told us to walk to wardrobe.  We were changed and luckily I didn't have to change since the costumer liked what I was wearing as a bar patron.

Then we sweated outside in the heat and then got onto the bus again.

We were bused to a bar in Burbank but we didn't start right away.  We got to eat lunch first and what I remember best were the grilled mahi mahi and ahi tuna.  I could have gone back for more but I always try to watch what I eat.  Besides, I had eaten lunch already before I left for set.

After lunch, we hung inside the bus.  Then the PA told us to go inside the bar.  After walking in, a bunch of us were told to go ahead and wait outside.  There were too many people in the bar already.  We hung around a little until a PA told us we could head back inside the bus.

I walked over after getting a drink and as I was about to start talking to someone, another PA told a few of us to follow him back inside.

The set PA who was probably the 2nd 2nd had me stand next to the bar.  He had a female set across from me and the cameraman set the shot up so he would shoot in between us.  We did three takes that way, another three takes tighter and that was pretty much it.

Then I left for the Bev Center.  When I got back, JD and Rak both were waiting for me.  I had Rak leave and JD and I kicked back for a little while.
