DADS #2
We were all recalled for the live audience shoot today. It was all the usual suspects plus more good looking folks that were party goers at Ribisi's character's house. He's married on the show to Vanessa Lachey. She's taller than I thought but not as hot as she was when she was Miss Teen.
The cool thing was that not only was she part Filipino, but one of my office co-workers was part Filipino as well. She was half Ethiopian which is the first time I'd ever seen that. She was cool and seemed familiar in that Filipino sense. Hard to describe, but you can pretty much tell when someone is Filipino American.
We were all hoping we could be regulars since this is the pilot episode. But looking at it online, it seemed that the show had been pre-ordered for six episodes already. Does that mean we get to work in all the episodes or will they continue to make changes? Who knows.
The surprising thing about today's shoot was that when everything was said and done, they wanted to do some re-shoots or pick-ups. It turns out that someone in the VIP room that was watching the show wanted to do a gay joke. And of course, I end up being the gay guy in the punch line. Ribisi's dad is being shown around the office by Ribisi and he asks, where's the gay guy? And I turn around in my chair and wave weakly to him.
As soon as that was shot, I could hear a lot of clapping in the back area VIP room where they were eating sushi. I guess the gag worked for them, but then I worried only that my chance to be a regular might be squashed. Hopefully, it helps me and not hurts my chances.
Since I started earlier than most, I got a good amount of OT for the day. I was pretty satisfied since we were also given dinner. These sitcoms are awesome. I really hope I get chosen to be an office regular.
