CLIENT LIST

I was booked as a bar patron and it was a pretty long shoot since there were a lot of different angles even though it was the same scene.  They did a block shoot so it was the usual take after take.

Luckily, I wasn't seen too much so I got to rest in holding much of the time.  There was a girl who was working with me and I'm certain I'd seen her on some other show but I just couldn't remember.

The good news is that I got to see Jennifer Love Hewitt's boobs (or at least cleavage) and I got to see the policeman dude from Heroes who is actually very outgoing and really into music.  I was surprised.

FIRST FAMILY #2

We were recalled to Entertainment Studios.  The set was the same, but this scene takes place before the one we worked on yesterday.  My fellow extra didn't realize the director was the same guy from the Love Boat - Isaac.  He was talking to the young man who plays the son of the first family and telling him he should work on any Shakespeare.

That's the thing that helps black kids feel like they can make it in Hollywood - there are examples out there.  But for others, it's harder because we don't have any.  Even the Indians have plenty to choose from.  But Asians?  Not so much.  I mean, we have them, but they just aren't as prevalent.

Anyway, the scene had the entire family posing for a picture from the photographer, but the sister of the first lady isn't invited and its becomes an awkward moment for everyone.  We did a few takes and once again, we were done.

We were wrapped but weren't invited to lunch.  The girls handling the dog told us they were wrapped too and that I should have lunch as well.  But I was too shy and didn't want the PA saying anything in case I wasn't allowed.  I wish I could have had lunch because it would have been fun to talk to the handlers and ask them what their job was like.

I walked out and headed to In-N-Out on Venice and ordered a protein style burger.  I really like them but they are kind of messy.

Then I went to my car and took a nap.  Janet called and said she would be taking a nap as well so I asked if I could just hang out at her pad and wait.  We were supposed to go out to West Hollywood and get free entry and a free bottle of vodka.  I was hesitant to believe this would happen since it's Valentine's Day, but hey, if there's a possibility, I'll take it.

I played with Benjamin and tired him out.  Poor guy, he never gets played with.  When Janet was finished with her nap, she ordered some Indian food and we ate.  Then she was too tired to go out.  So we didn't do shit.  Oh well, I didn't mind since I knew we would probably be out late and she would pay for it tomorrow.

FIRST FAMILY

I was sent to Entertainment Studios in Culver City, owned by Byron Allen.  First Family is some kind of syndicated show and I have no idea what channel it is played on.

It was only me and an Asian girl I had worked with in the past in holding.  I had to circle around for parking and finally decided to park in the lot.  There was a line outside so I asked the PA if it was for First Family.  It wasn't.  It was for some kind of courtroom show.

So I was sent inside their holding and lunch area and I just waited until we could see wardrobe.  Lunch was served and we ate it, but then realized that it wasn't for us.  It was actually for the courtroom show.  But it didn't matter because when it was actually time for lunch, the food was the same.

After seeing wardrobe, we were sent into the stage where it looked like the oval office.  In the scene, the first lady tells her sister that she has set-up a photo shoot just for her.  Rather than being a photo assistant, they set me up as the wardrobe guy since my sweater was pretty tight and I looked kind of gay.

There were a few changes, we shot them and that was that.  Easy day.

HAPPY ENDINGS #2

I got to Paramount with perfect timing yesterday, but today was a different story.  For some reason, the Google Maps time was about twenty minutes off.  So I was pretty late and I got a call from Central asking me where I was.  Luckily, I was at the front gate and the guard was telling me that I wasn't on the list.

So he told me to call the production office and find out what was happening.  The office person spoke to the guard and said I was on the list and he let me through.  The PA was waiting for me and I just felt terrible.  However, at least I had a little bit of an excuse with the guard.

Today was the same scene with the same clothes but from the turn-around angle.  This time I was seated up front with a really cute 21 year old to my left and an older chick to my right.  It was pretty fun watching the actors do a lot of improv, making shit up and cracking each other up.

HAPPY ENDINGS

I've always wanted to work this show ever since Jansen told me he liked it so much.  There were only a few of us who were placed as theater goers, watching some kind of terrible play that one of the principals writes, directs and acts in.

It was fun and we didn't work much today since the camera was placed behind us.  Also, I was in the back row so I wasn't really seen.  The cool thing was that it's a two day call so I get to come back tomorrow.
